Internet Marketing is Nuts!

Content is important, but links are even more so!

I am sure that by now you have heard the old phrase content is king.  There has been a lot of questionable material being offered to people and I am offering you a way to avoid the whole mess.

I realize this report isn’t exactly what you’ve heard regarding blog marketing before, however it is factual.  I will not tell you the names of sites.  I have to protect them as they are not mine.  I will explain to you that content is NOT King but ONE WAY LINKS ARE KING.

I have taken it up. A new challenge. My client’s pages could not go to the first page of Google. I went to work to get it done.

As with any new client I take a look at what they’re already doing and I was appalled they even were able to get the rankings they currently had.  All the pages were nasty, poorly written content that looked to have been written by someone who does not speak English, or by someone who English no speak.  Some of it even looked like it had been spun from a content spinner and not well-written human variations of each sentence but a cheap piece of crap article spinning software.

To highlight just how bad the previous SEO guy had done, he put these crappy pages up in some very competitive keyword markets somehow expecting them to rank highly.  It was clear to me with only a moments glance there was no hope of that ever happening.

Sadly, a middle schooler could duplicate his work very easily using a free article spinner from download.com and a few minutes of his or her time.

The internal site structure was mixed up, the internal links had errors like ‘home’ as anchor text, the sitemap was missing, and you don’t even want to know what was coming in from other sites.

What is the result then? If content was king, these pages cannot be on the first page of ANY search engine. Why speak of Google?  After doing my research, what were the results?

All of the sites had mucho one way links to their domain even if they were trashy links from low quality and low authority websites.  Next I took a look at their poorly ranking pages to see if there were problems immediately apparent and sure enough there were because these pages had no or very few incoming links.

In a fortnight I became a hero.You know How? I copied the links from other pages. Now my client is able to be on the first page of Google for the  sites he hired me for.

My main goal was to raise their rankings faxed because most of these were crap domains.  But once I had good rankings I then went back in and started building links from high quality domains.

You can probably guess I got a full-time Search engine optimization company blog marketing gig.  These guys weren’t business idiots they just didn’t know what they were doing from a search engine optimization standpoint. So go out and get lots of high quality links even if you content isn’t that great.

Article Writing – How To

As a promotional tool to drive targeted traffic to your web site, article writing is considered one of the key tools that should be employed. Fortunately, article writing is now also a recognized method for people to get fresh content for their sites by writing themselves or by using article directories. This system works well because new articles are wanted by the search engines who are attempting to please their users. Most Internet users consider the Internet to be one huge database and the search engines also see it as a giant source of information. If you’re considering this subject from the search engine’s point of view, which many people do, then rewriting an article simply means to make the article content unique.

However, you may be of a mind to start writing articles from scratch and discard the idea of rewriting existing articles and if that is the case there are a few things you will need to consider. It is always easier to read an article if it has been split into paragraphs and while there are no hard and fast rules, around 4 to 5 is ok but don’t forget that at the end there needs to be a resource box with your details and any links you have.

You can easily write articles for yourself or for others and it can be a very profitable business as well as enjoyable. If you are wondering how you start to write an article, then I will let you into a little secret. The easiest way to start is to write about something you already know because we all have special knowledge gained from our experience in life which we could pass on to others through an article or series of articles. Once you have exhausted that why not try a niche market one where you could write a series all based around a similar subject.

It’s important to remember that no matter how good your knowledge of a subject it is good practice to maintain a proper article writing method. By writing a piece every day to get the feel of writing and learn to identify the common problems faced by every other writer will improve your style very quickly. They say practice makes perfect and this is perfectly true with writing and not only that but it becomes easier. I wish that these guidelines were like the Holy Grail of writing but they’re not although they have worked for many writers including myself, only you can decide whether it’s this system or another that best suits you, however, whatever method you choose, stick with it.

Keywords in Your Marketing Campaign

You must actively use search engines as they are great tools and can drive a lot of traffic to your website. For potential visitors to find your website, it must show up when they do a search. Create “signs” (keywords) that point a roadmap to your website. The actual content on your website should contain the words that people would be typing in to a search engine. The relevance of the page is based on how similar the wording is to the words that people are searching for.

If you know what words people are searching for you should use them on your website and those you use should be very specific. Being more specific will mean your site is more relevant when people perform a search. Keywords are the starting point of the whole marketing strategy. If chosen incorrectly, your target audience may never find you.

Ascertaining the keywords that people are searching for about your product can be difficult. You have to remember that you know a lot about product and they don’t so the words that you may use may not be the same words that they are typing in to find you. Using online tools to find keywords relevant to your niche is important. A good service is Word Tracker but when you go to set up your pay per click campaign with Google ad words or Yahoo, they have keyword tools available as well and you should use them. These tools are based on actual searches being performed by the people looking for your product or service so they are valid measures to use.

Once you have your keywords list is important to evaluate the potential effectiveness of them. A quick search for the keyword will show the number of results that appear so you can assess its popularity. The aforementioned services will also aid you at this. You want to become relevant for more popular search terms that are more likely to be entered into the search engines. It is especially important that you put yourself in the place of the consumer and set up your website so that someone who doesn’t know anything about you will be able to find you.
